My name is Alex Morrell and I am a former wildland firefighter turned full-stack developer based out of Henderson, NV. I am both self-taught and educated through Zero to Mastery Academy.

Throughout my early journey as a developer, I've embarked on numerous projects that have truly been a joy to work on. From crafting user interfaces to implementing dynamic functionalities, each project has been an exciting opportunity to both showcase and test my skills. The satisfaction of bringing ideas to life through coding has fueled my passion for web development, and I am eager to take this enthusiasm and apply it to a career in the field. Weather App

A simple, reliable weather app! Search any town or city in the world and get current weather information, as well as a few recent news stories. This app accesses the OpenWeather API to retrieve weather and time data for any given location, as well as the World News API to retrieve news related to the searched location. I built a proxy server using Express.js and Node.js so that the API call as well as my personal API key (for OpenWeather) are hidden from the client-side. Disclaimer: OpenWeather doesn't seem to recognize a lot of obscure locations, so some smaller towns may not return any data.

A classic game of Memory! Flip a card, remember its position, find its match. Once you match all the cards, just click to reset the board. Upon reset, the cards are shuffled so each game is totally unique.

Rock, paper, scissors, shoot! Play this classic game against a computer and see if luck is on your side. As soon as you choose your move, the computer also picks a random move simultaneously. A message is then displayed indicating who won the round and a point is added to the victor's score.
